2017 Famille Perrin Domaine du Clos des Tourelles Gigondas Red Wine

The 2017 Famille Perrin Domaine du Clos des Tourelles is a red wine produced at the foot of the village of Gigondas. Vines and old vines from this vineyard, particularly from the heart of the Clos, provide the wine with elegance and unique aromatic finesse. The vineyard is oriented northwest and enjoys a cool microclimate that allows for late harvests on calcareous soils with a specific sandy matrix.

The 2017 vintage is noted as the driest in 30 years, resulting in a very small yield but wines with very rich potential. The harvest was manually picked, and the bunches were used whole in vats with fermentation starting spontaneously using indigenous yeasts. After pressing, the wines were aged in oak Foudres for a year and a half.
