The 2018 Gérard Bertrand Heritage 560 Tautavel is a powerful and racy red wine that reveals the history of the magnificent terroirs of the South of France. Sourced from a clay-limestone and schist amphitheater in Tautavel, this wine pays homage to the lands inhabited by our ancestors 560,000 years ago.
A blend of Grenache Noir, Carignan, and Syrah, it is crafted with a double sorting system and traditional vinification. One-third of the wine is aged for nine months in barrels to add complexity. The nose offers a rich palette of black fruits, liquorice, truffle, and black olive. On the palate, it delivers volume, density, and a solid structure with silky tannins.
Pairing Recommendations: Serve at 18°C with grilled peppers, pork with caramel, rabbit with prunes, or aged cheeses.
